Hollowroot

Hollowroot is a quiet, atmospheric adventure game that trusts you to explore. You wander a fading forest with a lantern, solving light environmental puzzles and slowly uncovering what happened to the place. There's almost no hand-holding, and that's the point — the joy is in noticing things.

The art and sound design carry a lot of the mood. Rain patters, roots creak, and the whole game has a hushed, storybook feel. Puzzles are gentle and logical, more about observation than reflexes, so it's a lovely game to unwind with. It plays offline without a hitch.

It's on the shorter side, maybe four hours, but it never overstays its welcome. We'd rather have a tight, memorable adventure than a padded one.
